Leroy Michael Breeden, a 75-year-old resident of Independence, died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at North Kansas City Hospital.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013 at St. Columban’s Catholic Church in Chillicothe. Burial will be at the Edgewood Cemetery in Chillicothe.
A Parish Rosary will be held at 9 a.m. on Wednesday at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe with a family visitation to follow until 11 a.m. General visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at the funeral home.
Mr. Breeden was born on Oct. 27, 1938 in Chillicothe, the son of Harold Gotch and Dorothy Gertrude Venneman Breeden. He was a 1956 graduate of the St. Joseph Academy in Chillicothe, Missouri.
He was married on Jan. 19, 1957 in Chillicothe to Dixie Gillilan, who survives of the home. He worked at Ross Miller Cleaners for 20 years.
He was a member of the St. Marks Catholic Church in Independence. After retirement he enjoyed going to the YMCA, participating in water aerobics and working out.
Survivors include his wife, Dixie Breeden of the home; five children, Teresa Breeden of Blue Springs, Pamela Carr and her husband, Paul of Blue Springs, Laura Ritchel and her husband Rolly of Independence, Leslie Manns and her husband Brian of Grain Valley and Leroy Michael Breeden, Jr. of Peculiar; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one brother, Gerald Breeden and his wife, Lillian of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Harold Breeden.
