The Ketcham Community Center has announced the availability of free fitness classes during the month of December.
These classes will meet from 5:15 until 6:15 p.m. in the Sugg Room of the KCC.
According to Holly Ropp, KCC fitness instructor and former Kansas City Chiefs cheerleader, the free classes are offered as an incentive to encourage persons to enroll in regular fitness classes when they begin again in January.
“Patrons can try out different types of classes to see which best fits their needs prior to actually paying for a class,” she explained.
Pilates and Introduction to Yoga will be offered Dec. 2-5. Pilates is a floor-based class, and Introduction to Yoga is a fundamental yoga class focused on breathing, balance, strength building and flexibility.
Beginning Zumba and Zumba will be Dec. 9-12. The fundamental Latin steps used in many Zumba dances will be taught. Dec. 16-17 will feature Fusion Fitness, an exploration of HITT, kickboxing, plyometrics and Pilates. Fusion Fitness is high-intensity interval training with weights and flexibility exercises.
There is a limit of 20 persons per class; therefore, those interested should pre-register by calling the KCC at 660 359-3948, ext. 1450.
