TMS Wrestlers Open Season

The Trenton Middle School wrestling team is looking pretty solid two matches into the 2013 season. The middle school Bulldogs wrestled at Cameron last Friday and Chillicothe this past Monday. Trenton won 14 of 18 matches against Cameron and went 11-8 in matches at Chillicothe against the host school, Richmond and Kirksville.
At Cameron, Trey Webb went 3-0 to lead Trenton. Webb won two matches by fall and scored a 7-0 decision victory in his other match. Eric Lovett, Ziccia Elder, Kylen Wilkinson and Nick Velazquez all went 2-0 with two wins, each by fall. Tommy Johnston was 2-0 on the night as well, winning one match by fall and the other by a 6-0 decision. Lucas Clark was 1-0, winning his only match by an 11-0 decision.
Other Trenton wrestlers in action included Trevor Johnson, who was 0-2; Cameron Murray, who was 0-1; and Gage Albrecht, who was 0-1.
At Chillicothe, Trenton was paced by Webb and Clark. Webb was 2-0 with two wins by fall and Clark was 2-0 with decision wins of 10-1 and 5-0. Johnston also won two matches, going 2-1 with two wins by fall. Johnson, Albrecht and Elder were all 1-1 with a win by fall and Wilkinson was 1-1 with an 8-2 decision win. Velazquez finished the night 1-2 with a win by a 3-2 decision. Lovett was 0-1.
Trenton will look to continue the strong start to the season tonight as they travel to Brookfield for wrestling action. First matches are scheduled for 5:30.
