Delores Mae Brittain, an 82-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday, Nov. 18, 2013 at her home.
Celebration of life services will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013 at the Historic Bruce Funeral Home in Fort Dodge, IA. Burial will be in the Cass Center Cemetery at Webster City, IA.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, 2013 at the funeral home and will continue on Saturday one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Brittain was born on Nov. 21, 1930 in South Sioux City, NE, the daughter of Howard and Cecelia Alam McGhee. She graduated from Winnebago, NE, High School in 1948.
She was married to Roger Christy on Nov. 20, 1948 in Jefferson, SD. The family lived in several communities before they made their home in Fort Dodge in 1963. She was married on Nov. 4, 1972 to Robert Ward Brittain.
Mrs. Brittain worked several different jobs during her lifetime, including packing plant, cooking, waitressing, driving a truck and housekeeping. She enjoyed fishing and crafts.
Mrs. Brittain moved to Trenton in 1987.
She is survived by her children, Carolyne (Clifford) Kelso of Trenton, Del (Pam) Christy of Hubbard, IA, Connie (Bernie) Rolling of Fort Dodge, Marcia (David) Tillman of Minnesota, Gail Laird of St. Paul, MN and Paula (Alan) Smith of Trenton; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren, a brother, Emmitt McGhee of Nebraska; and two sisters, Ellen Krause of Nebraska and Joyce Watson of Ava.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, three sisters and two grandchildren.
