Ordinances and contracts were among action items taken care of during city council meetings at Spickard and Princeton on Monday night.
Spickard
City Clerk April Meighen said the council approved a contract with All-State Consulting of Marceline to begin engineering work on the city lagoon system.
Approval was also given to an ordinance regarding abatement of sewer lines.
The next meeting of the council will be on Tuesday, Dec. 3.
Princeton
Assistant City Clerk Danette Summers said the board continues to update an ordinance regarding requirements for house numbers as part of the 911 emergency services efforts. She said the ordinance is being revised to include apartment numbers.
Approval was given to contracts with the Princeton Chamber of Commerce to provide funding for the Princeton High School choir and band during the Santa Day activities on Nov. 23. Also approved was a request from Melanie Robinson to hold a wedding on city-owned property near the fairground.
Pearl Scurlock was re-appointed to the Princeton Housing Board. Rex and Marsha Houck were approved for a building permit, allowing them to construct a pole barn-type garage.
Dec. 17 was set as the first day to file for the April city council election. The terms of councilmen Dee Hobbs and Dee McKinney expire. Persons can file at city hall during regular business hours.
The next meeting of the Princeton City Council will be at 5 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 5.
