WIC Contract Approved

The Grundy County Health Department has announced that a contract to continue to provide WIC services for federal fiscal year 2014 has been signed with the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
Under the terms of the contract, the Grundy County Health Department will serve 375 persons eligible for WIC every month.
WIC is a nutrition education program that offers supplemental food, such as infant formula, milk, eggs, cheese, peanut butter, and fruit juice, fruits and vegetables for pregnant women and families with children under 5.
Income guidelines are generous; for example, a family of four can earn up to $43,568 annually and qualify. Pregnant women are counted as two family members.
