James A. Hunolt, a 66-year-old resident of Springfield, VA, died on Friday, Oct. 25, 2013 at Sentara Hospital in Woodbridge, VA.
Funeral services will be at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013 at the Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home in Fairfax, VA. Visitation will take place prior to the services at 4 p.m.
Mr. Hunolt was born on Aug. 22, 1947 in Trenton, the son of Arthur and Marge Hunolt. He graduated from Simpson College in Indianola, IA and Northeastern University School of Law in Boston, MA. He was married to Donna Frances Hunolt on June 26, 1971.
He was an attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice for 40 years. He enjoyed woodworking, fly-tying and kayaking and was an avid birder.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; a daughter, Kelly; a son, John; a brother John, his wife, Sylvia and son, Jason and his wife, Dee of Ottumwa, IA; a brother-in-law, Doug Eagles and his wife, Joyce and son, Ross of Woodbridge; an uncle, Jim Frazee and his wife, Ginny of Ankeny, IA; his aunts, Lucille of Smithton and Dorothy and her husband, Don of Sun City West, AZ; and many cousins and their families.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Messiah United Methodist Church, 6215 Rolling Rd., Springfield, VA 22152 or to the National Audubon Society, 1200 18th St., NW, Washington, DC 20036.
