Oct 24, 2013 | Headline News

An educational program on driving impaired and driving while distracted was conducted at North Central Missouri College on Wednesday. NCMC instructor Eddie Koenig, Police Chief Tommy Wright and Trenton Police Department staff helped facilitate the program. “Fatal Vision” goggles were used to simulate different levels of intoxication, and participants tried to ride tricycles through an obstacle course while wearing the goggles. Also, police officers conducted field sobriety tests with students who wore the goggles. NCMC thumb bands (“W8 2 TXT”) were distributed to highlight statistical data concerning texting and driving and to educate college students on the dangers of distracted driving.
