Charles William “Bill” Waltner, a 78-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2013 at Wright Memorial Hospital inTrenton.
Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013 at the Spickard Masonic Cemetery with Rev. Gary Watkins officiating.
Family visitation will held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
Mr. Waltner was born on March 5, 1935 in Spickard, the son of John Poe and Carrie Finnis Wright Waltner. He graduated from Spickard High School and attended Trenton Junior College. He was a resident of Spickard before moving to Trenton. He retired from the Missouri State Highway Department.
He was married in Spickard on July 24, 1955 to Delores Jane Trobough, who preceded him death on March 5, 2011.
His survivors include two sons, C. Wesley Waltner and wife, Debbie of Harrisonville and Wendell Waltner and companion, Gena Neathery of Phillipsburg; one grandson, Steven Waltner and his wife, Nikki of Peculiar,; one granddaughter, Sarah Waltner of Springfield; and two great-grandsons Jonathan Waltner and Jacob Waltner both of Peculiar
He was preceded in death by parents and one son, John Waltner.
Memorials are suggested to the Grundy County-Jewett Norris Library and they may be left at the funeral home.
