The Trenton Lady Bulldogs golf team was in action on Monday at the Kirksville Tournament. The Lady Bulldogs combined to shoot a 471, placing them seventh overall in the 10-team tournament.
Trenton was paced on the day by Caitlin McNabb, who shot a 106, good for 13th overall. McNabb shot a 54 on the front nine and a 52 on the back nine to reach her total.
Behind McNabb, Trenton got a 117 from Lauren Schmidt, who had a front-nine total of 59 and a back-nine mark of 58. Jordain Oshel tallied nine-hole scores of 61 and 62 for a 123 and Kaitlyn Mounce rounded out the team score with a 125 after shooting nine-hole scores of 64 and 61. Sheridan Jamvold was also in action for the Lady Bulldogs, carding a 67 on the front nine and a 61 on the back for a tournament total of 129.
“This was one of our best team performances so far on a very challenging course,” Lady Bulldogs’ Coach Jeremy Austin said. “As always the greens were pretty fast and I think we made adjustments quickly as the day progressed. We are as ready as we are going to get for districts Monday. I think the girls are excited and nervous both.”
The Trenton golf team will be in Chillicothe on Monday for the district tournament.
