Veterans benefit sessions are scheduled for Friday, Oct. 4 and Monday, Oct. 7 in Trenton.
The Friday session will be from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Joseph L. Norton VFW Post in Trenton. A veteran’s center counselor will be present to assist with PTSD concerns as well as readjustment counseling and other veterans issues, beginning at 10:30 a.m.
The Monday session will be at Hy-Vee in Trenton from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Veterans needing assistance are asked to bring their DD-214 form and all paperwork received from the Veteran’s Administration.
Veteran’s officer Wayne Kleinschmidt said that veterans who have not heard anything in more than a month from the VA regarding their claims should contact him. Also, those veterans who have not had a ratings decision from the VA in more than 10 months should also contact Kleinschmidt. He can be called at 359-2078 and is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
