Mary Holcomb, a registered nurse at Wright Memorial Hospital, was honored as the hospital’s Employee of the Quarter for third quarter 2013. Gary Jordan, Wright Memorial Hospital CEO, presented the award to Holcomb at a ceremony held in her honor. The Employee of the Quarter Award honors an employee who provides exemplary service, going beyond the call of duty to support fellow employees or to comfort or assist patients and their families. In her nomination form, Holcomb’s co-workers said, “This employee strives to make Wright Memorial Hospital a great place to work by participating on committees and making genuine efforts to improve our processes for both the patient and the other staff. She offers great advice when asked and works as a team player. She has built a respectful relationship with the physicians and they depend on her and go to her for information and results. She gives excellent customer service to everyone with focus on the patient and family. Mary should be recognized for her positive attitude, hard work, and for making this a great place to work.” In recognition of the award, Ms. Holcomb received an Employee of the Quarter certificate, the parking space of her choice for three months, three e-store vouchers, a gift certificate to the hospital gift shop, her name posted on the Employee of the Quarter wall plaque and acknowledgement in the local media and hospital newsletter.
