The Trenton Lady Bulldogs golf team traveled to Richmond on Tuesday, falling to the Lady Spartans by just 11 strokes. Trenton carded a team score of 248 while the host-Lady Spartans came around the course with a 237.
Trenton was led once again by Caitlin McNabb. McNabb shot a 56 to pace the Lady Bulldogs and that mark was seven strokes shy of medalist honors, which went to Richmond’s Paige Pierson, who shot a 49.
Behind McNabb, Trenton got a 63 from Sheridan Jamvold and a 64 from Kaitlyn Mounce. Lauren Schmidt rounded out the team score with a 65. Jordain Oshel was also in varsity action, shooting a 66, and Abby Gonzalez was in JV action, shooting a 66 as well.
“We did much better today than the last time we were in Richmond,” Lady Bulldogs’ Coach Jeremy Austin said. “I think we can still improve. Thursday will be a big test for us at the Chillicothe Tournament, which is the site for districts.”
Trenton will tee off from the Chillicothe Tournament at 9 a.m. on Thursday.
