A collection of works by area artists begins the 2013-2014 exhibition schedule in the Dorris Rider Art Gallery at North Central Missouri College in Trenton. “Local Artists Showcase 6” is now open and will be on display through Friday, Oct. 4. The show features 42 artworks created by 24 different artists from Trenton and the surrounding area, including “The Old Dish Pan” by Frances Crouch, pictured above. Viewers can expect to see traditional materials such as oil paint, acrylics, photography, and drawing. On the other hand, this exhibit also includes unique landscapes created from cloth and mixed media pieces constructed from women’s shoes. The gallery is located in the Frey Administrative Building, and all NCMC students and members of the public are invited to visit the exhibit. Regular hours at the Rider Art Gallery are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, as well as selected weekend and evening hours by appointment. For more information, persons can contact Gallery Director Jim Norris at 359-3948, ext. 1345 at NCMC.
