Graveside services for Barbara Jean Maloney are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 17, 2013 at Rural Dale Cemetery, east of Trenton.
A visitation is scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 16, 2013 at the Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home in Trenton. Mrs. Maloney, an 87-year-old Trenton resident, died at 11:50 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 13, 2013 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Mrs. Maloney was born on Feb. 13, 1926 in Trenton, the daughter of Michael Joseph and Beatrice Frances Brock DePaul. She was raised in Trenton and graduated from Trenton High School.
She was married at Troy, KS on Nov. 16, 1946 to Edwin William Maloney, who preceded her in death on May, 16, 1976. In 1956 they returned to Trenton, where for 18 years she owned and operated Mode O’Day Dress Shop and BJ Fashions in Trenton.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Trenton.
Survivors include a son, Donald Edwin Maloney of Springfield; a daughter, Donna Elaine Berning of Smithville; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Carl Dwight Maloney; and a brother, Jerry Dean DePaul.
Memorial donations are suggested to the American Cancer Society and may be left at the funeral home.
