Naomi Stretch, a 90-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Friday afternoon, Aug. 2, 2013 at the Indian Hills Nursing Home in Chillicothe.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 2013 at the Slater Funeral Home at Trenton with Larry Reeter officiating. Burial will be in the Old Scotland Cemetery at Jameson.
There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mrs. Stretch was born on May 27, 1923 in Brimson, the daughter of Ross and Sean Ellis Hobbs. She graduated from Spickard High School. She raised her children, then retired after working 18 years at the Hedrick Medical Center in Chillicothe.
She was married on July 21, 1942 at Gallatin to Russell Stretch, who preceded her in death on Feb. 28, 2006.
She is survived by four daughters, Beverly Thompson and her husband, Duane of Chillicothe, Bonnie Morin and her husband, Charles of Chillicothe, Connie Knapp and her friend,Frank, of Camden, ME and Patsy Blake and her husband, Zeke of Chillicothe; 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; an infant daughter, Sandra Stretch; three sisters, Nellie Turley Ray, Mildred Gibson and Minnie Hoffman; and three brothers, Charlie Hobbs, Tommy Hobbs and Wayne Hobbs.
Memorials are suggested to the Old Scotland Cemetery. They may be left at or mailed to the Slater Funeral Home.
