Scott Keith, a psychology instructor at North Central Missouri College, presented the program at Thursday’s Trenton Rotary Club meeting. Steve Maxey introduced the program.
Keith organizes tours for EF College Study Tours, which specializes in trips geared toward college students. He has taken groups to Italy for the past two years and is planning a trip to London, Edinburg and Ireland for May 2014. Students are not the only ones who can go on the trip as Keith noted that 15 of the 16 who went to Italy earlier this year were not college students. He said the group from NCMC will meet up with other colleges to make up a group of around 40, which will then tour the places on the itinerary. Five persons have already signed up for the 2014 trip and persons interested can contact Keith at the college. The trip will be for eight days at a cost of between $3,100 (students) and $3,842 (adults), which includes transportation and housing as well all tours and some meals.
Also speaking at the meeting was Loren Fox, who will be representing the North Central Missouri Fair at the Missouri State Fair Queen contest next week in Sedalia. She will be a sophomore at NCMC this fall, planning to transfer to Northwest Missouri State University to earn a degree in ag business and a minor in advertising. She begins competition next Thursday, with the new queen being crowned o Friday, Aug. 9. Between 60 and 70 young women from across Missouri will be taking part in the competition.
During the business meeting, a list of program assignments for the year was distributed. It was announced that additional volunteers were needed to help sell tickets at the demolition derby on Saturday night and that over 50 Missouri and U.S. flags have been sold for the Missouri Day Festival in October.
