Buford Whorton Whitney, a 98-year-old former Trenton resident, died on Monday, July 15, 2013 in Mission Viejo, CA.
Memorial services were held today (Monday July 22, 2013) in the chapel of Westminster Memorial Park in Westminster, CA with internment to follow in the mausoleum.
Mr. Whitney was born on Jan. 14, 1915, the son of Julian and Evelyn Whorton Whitney. He attended Trenton schools, graduating from Trenton High School in 1933.
He was married on June 27, 1937 in Trenton to Pauline Buzzard, who preceded him in death in April 2012. They moved to California in 1948. He was employed by the Redondo Beach City School District in California.
He is survived by a daughter, Karen (Richard) Lee; a son, Delvin (Robin) Whitney; four grandchildren David Lee, Cheryl Dorsey, Amy Whitney and Katie Baker, and four great-grandchildren, Anna and Matthew Dorsey and Whitney and Delaney Baker.
