Funeral services for Eugene J. “Gene” Lambrecht will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton with Pastor Mike Moore officiating. Burial will be in South Evans Cemetery, northeast of Trenton.

Mr. Lambrecht, an 86-year-old resident of Trenton, died on Monday morning, June 24, 2013 at the Clearview Home in Mt. Ayr, IA.
Mr. Lambrecht was born on March 15, 1927 at Rattle Snake Buttes east of Walsenburg, CO, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Nancy Elizabeth Willard Lambrecht.
From 1946 to 1948 he worked on a ranch near Pueblo, CO, then from 1948 to 1949 worked in construction at Pueblo, making gravel for the railroad. In 1949, he worked on a ranch near Westcliff, CO. From Oct. 14, 1950 to Sept. 9, 1952 he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, including Pork Chop Hill and T-Bone Hill in Korea. He worked for Ballantine Trucking for 23 years, then in 1978 went to El Paso, TX to work for Border Steel Trucking. He also worked for Road Runner’s Trucking before retiring. He moved in 1991 to Ravanna and operated the Ravanna Township road grader.
He was married to Allie Bratsberg, who preceded him in death. He was the married on Aug. 21, 2004 at Trenton to Luetta M. Wilford King, who survives of the home
He is also survived by one step-daughter, Rhonda Johnson and her husband, Dale of Trenton; four step-sons, Gordon Bratsberg of Kansas City, Zane Bratsberg and his wife, Sharon of Trenton, Larry Troxel of Trenton and Norman Troxel of Columbia; three step-granddaughters, C.J. Bratsberg of Kansas City, Amy Burke and her husband, Tim of Blue Springs and Rachel Anderson of Kansas City; one step-grandson, Tyler Anderson of Jamesport; two step-great-grandsons; two sisters, Inez (Joy) Boswell and her husband, Gene of East Moline, IL and Rovella Arlene Reese of Kerrville, TX; and one brother, Harold Lambrecht of Pueblo, CO.
He was preceded in death by parents and three brothers, Irwin Lambrecht, Leslie Lambrecht, and Julian “Cub” Lambrecht.
Memorials are suggested to the South Evans Cemetery and they may be left at the funeral home.
