Mudcats Split Over Weekend

The Chillicothe Mudcats opened their 2013 campaign over the weekend, facing off with the Sedalia Bombers on Saturday and the Omaha Diamond Spirit on Sunday. The Mudcats were able to pick up an 8-3 win at home on Saturday, before falling 5-4 in Omaha on Sunday.

The Mudcats topped Sedalia behind a strong start from left-handed pitcher Vin Roth. Roth threw seven innings in picking up the win on the hill. Brandon Dulin led the Mudcats at the plate, collecting three hits and four RBIs.
Brock Downey took the loss on the hill for the Mudcats on Sunday. Nathan Lukes had two of the teams three hits offensively.
The Mudcats begin a three-game series with Nevada on Tuesday. The middle game of the series (Wednesday) will be played at Burleigh Grimes Field in Trenton. The first pitch will be thrown at 7:05 p.m.
