According to the St. Joseph News-Press, 34-year-old Jennifer R. Graves of Chula was arrested on the school grounds and is facing charges of alleged assault on school property, trespassing, property damage, assault on a law enforcement officer, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
The incident began during school hours when Ms. Graves, a parent, was in the building and began yelling and screaming at a school official. A second employee called 911. After Ms. Graves was asked to leave school property, she refused and reportedly pulled the telephone being used to call 911 from the wall. She attempted to strike the principal in the face and threatened to kill people or have others kill school officials.
Staff members restrained Ms. Graves until Livingston County deputies arrived. She allegedly continued to resist arrest as they took her into custody, assaulting a deputy and threatening to shoot a deputy in the head.
The case has been turned over to Livingston County Prosecuting Attorney Adam Warren and Ms. Graves is being held in the Daviess-DeKalb Regional Jail awaiting formal charges.
