Gerald Wesley Stevenson, a 97-year-old resident of Whittier, CA, died on Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.

Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012 at the Whittier Hills Baptist Church.
Mr. Stevenson was born on Aug. 5, 1915, the son of Earl L. Stevenson and Jessie Mae Norton. He was a graduate of Trenton High School. He worked for Douglas Aircraft, then for Ford Motor Company, becoming a plant engineering manager in 1962. He retired in 1978 after 32 years at Ford Motor Co. He designed and held numerous patents.
He was married to Thelma L. Buzzard Stevenson, who preceded him in death.
He is survived by one son, Max Stevenson; two daughters-in-law, Dottie and Sharon Stevenson; a brother, Leland Stevenson of Peachtree City, GA; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Frances Griffin of Trenton and Rosemary Bear of Jamesport are cousins.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Ronald L. Stevenson; three brothers; and a nephew, Jerry Stevenson.
