Earnie Lee Bardwell, 93, died on Monday, Oct. 22, 2012 at the Seymour Nursing Care Center in Seymour, IA.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Jack Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Girdner Cemetery, north of Mercer.
General visitation begins at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24, 2012 at the funeral chapel. There is no scheduled family visitation.
Mr. Bardwell was born on March 16, 1919 in Lineville, IA, the son of David Patrick and Mary Jane Smith Bardwell. He was raised in the Lineville area and was a graduate of Lineville High School. He lived and farmed all his adult life in Mercer County, and also worked on small engine repair and saw, sickle and mower blade sharpening. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting.
He was married on July 19, 1941 to Mabel Mae Anderson, who preceded him in death on Nov. 27, 2005.
He is survived by one brother, Lyle Bardwell (and sister-in-law, Doris) of Mercer, and by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was a member of the Mercer-Lineville Christian Church of Mercer.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dave and Dean Bardwell; and a sister, Lucille Ayers.
