Betty A. Coon, a 66-year-old resident of Spickard, died on Sunday, October 14, 2012 at her home.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012 at the First Christian Church at Spickard. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery of Spickard.
A family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2012 at the church, where friends may call after 4 p.m. on Wednesday.
Mrs. Coon was born on April 3, 1946 in Denison, IA, the daughter of Harold J. and Ellen L. (Schultz) Henningsen. She was married in November 2011 to William G. “Billy Gene” Coon, who survives at the home.
She was a secretary for Coon Manufacturing Inc. at Spickard.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her parents, Harold and Ellen Henningsen, Denison, IA; two daughters, Angela Kay “Angie” (Jeremy) Michaelis of Mercer and Audra Ann (Donovan) Dowty of Buckner; a son, Brian Lee (Raina) Siemer of Clever; two sisters, Beverly (Steve) Ransom and Brenda Blum of Denison; two brothers, Howard (Linda) Henningsen of Denison and John (Kim) Henningsen of St. Louis Park, MN; two step-daughters, Anita (Jason) Cox of Spickard and Teresa (Chad) Larson of Lincoln, NE; her mother and father-in-law, Bill and Jean Coon of Trenton; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; five nieces; and seven nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son, Gene Ray Siemer.
