The event will kick off on Oct. 13 with the annual pancake feed at the Hy-Vee Food Store. The eat-what-you-want, pay-what-you-want event will take place from 7 to 10 a.m. and feature a menu of pancakes, sausage, juice, coffee and milk.
A change is being made this year in how door-to-door collections will be done. Instead of sending representatives of the benefitting entities to certain areas of the county, the United Way will be sending out self-address stamped envelopes to residents via the Green Hills Weekly so that all households within the county will be contacted. These will be included in the Oct. 10 edition.
The goal for this year’s fund drive is $24,000.
Organizations scheduled to be funded this year through the United Way include the Green Hills Women’s Shelter, the Third Judicial Circuit Court Juvenile Court Division Program, the Third Judicial Circuit Court Juvenile Office, the Grundy County Retired Senior Volunteer Program, the Community Food Pantry, the Trenton Little League Football program, the Grundy County 4-H program, the North 65 Center, the Trenton R-9 Parents as Teachers program, the Boy Scouts, the Grundy County Learning Center, the Grundy County Falls Coalition and the North Central Missouri Court Appointed Special Advocate program.
