Kenneth Allen Francis, a 66-year-old resident of Gardner, KS, died on Friday, Sept. 14, 2012 at Olathe Medical Center. He was police chief for the city of Gardner, KS and was also the first police chief for the city of Trenton under the city’s merit system.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 21, 2012 in the main sanctuary of the Church of the Nazarene in Olathe. Burial will be at Gardner Cemetery.
Family visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012, also in the main sanctuary at the church.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Patty, of the home; sons, Harry Francis, wife, Lisa and their children, Jordan and Mitchell of Kansas City, David Francis of North Kansas City and Patrick Armato, wife, Carley and their children, Kiera and Elayna of Gardner; a daughter, Leigh Francis and children, Justin and Lillie of North Kansas City; a sister Penny Reil, husband, James and nephew, Eric; mother-in-law Phyllis Marotta; brothers-in-law Frank Marotta and wife Mary and Jim Marotta and wife Dena; aunt, Mary Frances Accurso; aunt and uncle, Mike and Rosemary Arnone; and nieces, Anna, Amanda and Angelica Marotta.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gardner Gold Special Olympics.
