The Trenton Rotary Club has announced plans to pay tribute to the theme of the 2012 Missouri Day Festival by displaying American flags alongside the festival parade route on parade day.
This website brought to you in part by the following sponsor:

Over 3,500 small American flags – 18 inches wide and 11 ½ inches tall and mounted on a 24-inch dowel – will be placed in the ground on each side of Ninth Street and throughout downtown in containers to greet both parade entries as well as visitors to Trenton. Flags will also be displayed throughout the festival grounds surrounding the Trenton Rock Barn.
The theme of the parade is “The Sounds of Freedom – A Tribute to the Military” and local Rotarians are encouraging individuals, businesses and organizations to purchase these flags for only $1 each in support of the soldiers and veterans who are being honored in the parade as well as those who have served our country. Small labels with the names of those who purchase flags will be secured to each the flags in recognition of the contributors.
It is also hoped that businesses and residences will display flags in honor of Missouri Day on Oct. 20 and the special tribute being organized to recognize the military.
Volunteers will place the flags early Saturday morning prior to the parade and anticipate distributing any extra flags for spectators to wave during the annual procession.
Flags may be purchased in any quantity and orders may be made to Rick Klinginsmith or Steve Maxey, parade co-chairmen, or to any local Rotarian.
Over 500 flags were sold in the first week and Rotarians expect a great response to this patriotic effort and the fitting tribute to our American heroes.
