When the Trenton Lady Bulldogs golf team finally got all of their players eligible, they began to see results. With a full team on Wednesday at Chillicothe, the Lady Bulldogs scored a triangular victory, defeating the host Lady Hornets and the Putnam County Lady Midgets.
Lady Bulldog Golfers Take Two In Chillicothe
Trenton’s group combined for a team score of 204, nine strokes better than Chillicothe and 21 strokes ahead of Putnam County.
The Lady Bulldogs were led by Haley Purkapile who ripped off a score of 45 in her first dual of the year. The mark paced all golfers in the triangular, giving her medalist honors.
For the second day in a row Chandler Wilson finished one stroke behind a medalist-winning teammate as she shot a 46. Wilson shot a 46 on Tuesday as well, finishing one stroke behind Katie Lenhart, who was medalist with a 45. On Wednesday, Lenhart had the third lowest total for Trenton, carding a 51.
Trenton’s fourth score was a 62. Both Karley McCollum and Lauren Schmidt shot 62 on the course in Chillicothe. One of the two scores rounded out Trenton’s team total.
The Lady Bulldogs hit the links again today, competing for the third day in a row. Trenton traveled to Lancaster today to compete in the all-day Schuyler County Tournament. After today’s tournament, Trenton is off until Wednesday, Sept. 5, when they compete in the Richmond Tournament.
