Funeral services for Harold Lee Thompson will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 29, 2012 at Whitaker-Eads Funeral Home of Trenton. Burial will be at Pilot Grove #1 Cemetery.

Mr. Thompson, a 97-year-old resident of Jamesport, died at 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 at Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.
Mr. Thompson was the youngest of five children born to Francis Lee and Lillian Brownhill Thompson on July 16, 1915 near Winston. He lived his entire life on farms near Gallatin and Gilman City and for the past 55 years on his farm near Jamesport. He lived an exemplary life as neighbor and friend and declared his love for God and was a Baptist by profession.
Mr. Thompson is survived by a sister-in-law, Venna Thompson of Trenton; three nephews, Duane Thompson of Chillicothe and Forrest Lee and Floyd Thompson of Mt. Vernon; five nieces, Ruth Scott of Trenton, Shirley Woody of Belton, Virginia Mason and Nina Smith of Kansas City and Charlene Armitage of Liberty; and several great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Paul and Wesley; two sisters, Clara Thompson and Mary Yates-Anderson; three nieces, Norma Lea Ferguson and two infants; and two nephews, Nevin Yates and Gene Thompson.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the charity of the donor’s choice.
