Principal Dan Wiebers said a representative from the MASSP will visit the school on Oct. 11 and it is hoped Trenton can be selected as one of the Top 10 schools in the nation. The program recognizes middle level and high schools that serve large numbers of students living in poverty and are high achieving or is showing dramatically improving student achievement.
In addition to the grant, the top 10 schools are also featured in the MASSP monthly magazine. Principals of the “Breakthrough School” also participate in dissemination activities at the MASSP National Conference as well as other ventures throughout the year.
