Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at the Mt. Pleasant #1 Baptist Church at Gilman City. Burial will be in Foster Cemetery at New Hampton.
The family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012 at the Roberson Funeral Home at Bethany, where general visitation begins at noon on Wednesday.
Mrs. Bascom was born on Oct. 19, 1915 in Cedar County, the daughter of George and Iva May Groves Felty. She was married on Feb. 23, 1934 in Eldorado Springs to Donald Bascom, who preceded her in death on Nov. 9, 1985.
Mrs. Bascom was a homemaker and farm wife. She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant #1 Baptist Church.
Survivors include three daughters, Iva Gail (Ron) Ratliff and Betty Lynell (Rick) Polley, both of Gilman City and Carla Faye Bascom of Belton; 10 grandchildren, Twila (Jerry) Buckner, Lionel Moulin, Rodney Moulin, Beverly (Carl) Allen, Ireland (Nina) Moulin, Stacey (Donna) Ratliff, Shannon (Charla) Ratliff, Nathan (Nicole) Polley, Braden Polley and Christie Polley; 15 great-grandchildren (one on the way); and three great- great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Donna May Bascom; a great-grandson, Codie Ratliff; a daughter and son-in-law, Delpha Doris and Garvin Moulin; five sisters, Melba Doris Felty Music, Virginia Roberta “Bertie” Felty Teague, Letha Margaret Felty Tudar, Ruth Ellen Felty Jones and Zelma Irene Felty Edgerton; and a brother, Dow Felty.
