The Mercer County Fair continued over the weekend with livestock shows taking place on Friday and Saturday.

Swine Show
In the swine show, Hunter Shipley of Princeton exhibited the grand champion boar, with Dolan Huber of Trenton exhibiting the reserve champion. The grand champion gilt was exhibited by Zach Craven of Norborne, and Trenton resident Morganne Farmer exhibited the reserve grand champion gilt. The grand champion market hog was exhibited by Tessa Schwartzkopf, while Shambree Hagan exhibited the reserve champion market hog. Both are from Princeton.
In showmanship, Galt Porter took top honors in the 14 and over category, while Grey Porter won the 13 and under category. Both are of Mercer. Galt Porter also received the Raymond and Wyona Easter Memorial Showmanship Award.
County performance winners included Brylee Williams of Princeton, first; Bryce Shipley of Mercer, second; and Shaylee Hunley of Princeton, third.
Beef Show
In the beef show, Leah Polk of Spickard showed the grand champion and reserve champion bucket calf. Trenton Ishmael of Gallatin had the grand champion bull while Mattison Ishmael of Gallatin showed the reserve champion. The grand champion female was showed by Rachelle Parks of Princeton, who also had the reserve grant champion market steer. Tyler Daugherty of Bethany had the reserve grand champion female and Bill Jennings of Bethany had the grand champion market steer.
Showmanship honors went to Remington Byers of Princeton, 14 and over, and Mattison Ishmael, 13 and under. Remington Byers also won the Raymond and Wyona Easter Memorial Showmanship Award.
County performance winners were Rachelle Parks, first; Cameron Joiner of Princeton, second; and Mason Henke of Princeton, third.
Sheep Show
The grand champion ram in the sheep show was shown by Huston Sprinkle of Trenton. Garrett Enright of Princeton had the reserve champion ram. Kristen Herndon of Hopkins showed the grand champion ewe with Brycen Stark of Princeton having the reserve champion. The grand champion market lamb belonged to Emma Clark of Milan. The reserve grand champion was shown by Casey Weiderholt of Maryville.
Receiving showmanship honors were Brody Cridlebaugh of Princeton, 14 and over, and Casey Weiderholt, 13 and under. The Raymond and Wyona Easter Memorial Showmanship Award went to Brody Cridlebaugh.
Pen of three winners were Casey Weiderholt, first; Kristen Herndon, second; and Danielle Funk of Grant City, third. County performance winners were Bailey Richard of Princeton, first; Jansen Stark of Princeton, second; and Rachelle Parks, third.
Dairy Goat
Emily Torrey of Humphreys had the grand champion and reserve champion dairy goat in the goat show. Kennedy Wanstreet of Trenton had the grand champion pygmy buck and the grand champion pygmy doe. Haley Alden of Hamilton had the grand champion buck and Zach Taylor of Bethany showed the reserve champion. The grand champion percentage doe belonged to Evan Funk of Grant City. Brylee Williams of Princeton had the grand champion full blood doe while the reserve champion belonged to Haley Alden. The supreme grand champion female was shown by Brylee Williams. Gage Porter of Mercer had the grand champion wether and Haley Alden had the reserve champion.
Receiving showmanship awards were Taylon Place of Princeton, 14 and over, and Bryce Shipley of Mercer, 13 and under. The Raymond and Wyona Easter Memorial Showmanship Award went to Taylon Place.
County performance honors went to Taylon Place, first; Gage Porter, second; and Damien Miller of Princeton, third.
Pig Mud Wrestling
First place winners – Addy Henke, Princeton, 6 and under; Wil Walkup, Princeton, 7 to 9 years; Eli Henke, Princeton, 10 to 12 years; Lauren Cox, Princeton, 13 to 15 years; and Bailey Prichard, Princeton, 16 and over.
Super Farmer
29 and under – 1. Danessa Derry and Tyler Johnson, Princeton, 2. Shaylee Henley and Ethan Cast, Princeton; 3. Rylan Purdun and Vance Purdun, Princeton.
30 and over – 1. Chad and Keri Smith, Princeton.
Upcoming Events
Activities will continue this Saturday, with an antique tractor pull at 10:30 a.m. and an LAMO Puller Association Truck and Tractor Pull set for 7 p.m.
