School immunization requirements primarily affect three age groups: students entering kindergarten, who must have a booster series; students entering eighth grade, who need a tetanus booster; and college-bound students, who may be required to have a meningitis vaccination.
Parents can avoid the August rush by scheduling an appointment this month. Appointments can be made by contacting the health department at 359-4196.
