Richard Thomas, a 90-year-old Trenton resident, died at 4:23 p.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at the Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012 at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, north of Trenton.
Mr. Thomas was born on Nov. 9, 1921 at home on the family farm in Grundy County, the son of Euna Johnson and Benjamin Emmett Thomas. He was married to Alice Ash on May 16, 1942 in Jamesport. She preceded him in death on April 29, 2010. They lived and farmed in the “Forks of the River,” northwest of Trenton, and raised their family there.
Mr. Thomas is survived by two sons, Phillip Thomas and his wife, Carol of Trenton and Danny Thomas of Trenton; one daughter, Melissa Booth and her husband, Dennis of Columbia; six grandchildren, Amy Thomas Larsen, Julia Thomas, Melody Booth Bezenek, Ben Thomas, Marty Thomas and Meredith Booth Becklenberg; and four great-grandchildren, Sam Larsen, Mick Larsen, Dalton Becklenberg and Alice Becklenberg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
