Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 6, 2012 at the Modena Baptist Church in Modena, with Bro. Donnie Boone and Bro. Duane Campbell officiating. Burial will be in Prairie Ridge Cemetery, south Modena.
A family visitation will be held frim 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the church.
The body is at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton, where general visitation will begin at 9 a.m. on Thursday, July 5, 2012.
Mr. Ferguson was born on July 7, 1940 in Trenton, the son of Frederick Newton and Ruth Brush Ferguson Sr. He graduated from Princeton High School. He was a life-long resident of the Modena community. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era, serving in the U.S. Army. Before retiring he was employed by Trenton Foods.
He was a member of Spickard Christian Church of Spickard and attended the Modena Baptist Church.
He was married at Spickard on June 12, 1982 to Linda S. Crowder, who survives of the home.
He also survived by two daughters, Christina Ferguson of the home and Amanda Brown of Lee’s Summit; and a friend, Bill Woodley, also of the home.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials are suggested to the Newton Ferguson Memorial Fund and may be left at the Slater Funeral Home in Trenton.
