Among the activities scheduled at the Trenton Independence Day Celebration on July 4 is a mud volleyball tournament at Eastside Park.

The Major Dale Stepp American Legion Post No. 31 of Trenton is sponsoring the event, which begins with check-in at 10:30 a.m. and games at 11 a.m. Six person co-ed teams (of which two girls must be a member) are eligible to play. Tennis shoes are required.
The entry fee is $25 per team if entered before July 2 and $35 after that date. First- and second-place team trophies will be awarded.

The Legion Unit is sponsoring several events at the park on July 4, including opening ceremonies, a car show, music and games. The Chamber of Commerce will have a fireworks display at dusk, which will be shot from the grassy area just north of the Rock Barn.
