Robert L. “Bob” Williams, a 68-year-old resident of Lake Viking, died at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at his residence, where he was under hospice care.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at the Edinburg Baptist Church in Edinburg. Burial will be in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
A family visitation is scheduled from 7 until 8 o’clock tonight (Thursday, June 7, 2012) at Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mr. Williams was born on March 26, 1944 in Trenton, the son of John Robert and Anna Virginia Hamilton Williams. He graduated from Trenton High School and then Trenton Junior College in 1963. He later received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Missouri in agricultural economics and a master’s degree from the University of Nebraska in secondary school administration. He served in the United States Army from 1966 through 1968 with the first of the first calvary in Vietnam.
Mr. Williams had worked as a teacher at South Omaha High School and worked for Farmers National before starting his own farm management and insurance company, Ag Business Associates in Atlantic, IA in 1992. He retired from the business in 2005.
He was married on Sept. 19, 1998 to Jennifer Snidow.
He was a member of the Edinburg Baptist Church, a life member of the VFW, the National Rifle Association, University of Missouri Alumni Association and a past member of the Lions Club and the Optimist Club in Iowa.
Surviving relatives include his wife, Jennifer of the home; four daughters Wendy Williams of St. Joseph, Lisa Roberson and her husband, Kenneth of Coldwater, MS, Jennifer Partlow and her husband, Brock of Avoca, IA and Antionette “Toni” Williams of St. Joseph; two step-children, Paige Baker Lund and her husband, David of Hamilton and Chad Baker and his wife, Kristie of Edgewater, MD; a sister, Deanna Trump and her husband, Jerry of Trenton; a brother, Rex Williams and his wife, Arlene of Sioux City, IA; 11 grandchildren, Jay, Jessica, Cheyenne, Peyton, Graycen, Etta, Trevor, Trey, Tessa, Maison and Kaitlyn; and two great-grandchildren, Keaton and Gabriel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Lionel Gary Williams.
Memorial donations are suggested to the NCMC Barton Farm Campus and may be left or mailed to the funeral home.
