The Trenton Middle School track teams were in action Monday, running in the Carrollton Junior High Invitational. Trenton’s girls placed third in the 10-team field with 57 points while the TMS boys placed fourth on the boys side with 65 points.
TMS Teams Finish In Top Half At Relays
Lady Bulldogs
Leading the way for the Trenton girls were Karley McCollum and Ally Ockenfels, each of whom picked up a gold medal at the meet. McCollum won the high jump with a mark of 5-00 and Ockenfels won the shot put with a throw of 34-06.5. Ockenfels also picked up a fourth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 66-02.
Other placewinners for the TMS girls included Sadie Roy, fifth in the pole vault with a mark of 5-06; Mason Hooyman, sixth in the triple jump with a mark of 26-07; Whitley Richman, fourth in the 75-meter hurdles with a time of 14.28; Tenna Roberts, third in the 100-meter dash with a time of 13.52 and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 30.34; the 4×200-meter relay team of Payton Adwell, Lana Raymo, McCollum and Shayla Woodside, fourth with a time of 2:10.25; Woodside, fifth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:12.09; and the 4×400-meter relay team of McCollum, Roberts, Woodside and Jaylen Neff, third with a time of 5:03.69.

The Trenton boys scored two gold medals on the day as well. Wynne DeVorss won the pole vault with a mark of 8-06 and Travis Leeper won the triple jump with a mark of 35-05. Leeper was also third in the long jump with a mark of 17-01.5 and DeVorss placed fourth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:35.00 and fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:29.81.
Other placewinners for the Bulldogs included Jose Barron, fourth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.27; Ellis Gilham, fifth in the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:45.51; Brice Dillon, third in the discus with a throw of 107-07; Cree Mullenix, third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 17.13; the 4×200-meter relay team of Austin Burkeybile, Colton Neff, Corbyn Guile and Kail McCarter, sixth with a time of 2:00.50; the 4×100-meter relay team of Barron, Mullenix, Leeper and Neff, third with a time of 53.07; Jonathan Lamp, fifth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.09; and the 4×400-meter relay team of Barron, Guile, Denver Bennett and Spencer Harris, fifth with a time of 4:31.81.
The TMS teams return to action today, weather permitting, competing in the Kirksville Relays at 2 p.m.
