A memorial service for Steven John Capeder, a 42-year-old resident of Kansas City, will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in White Church.

Mr. Capeder died at 3:40 p.m. on Sunday, April 1, 2012, at Highland Nursing and Rehabilitation in Kansas City.
He was born on May 4, 1969, at Rhinebeck, NY, the son of Josef V. Capeder and Marie Theres Niederberger Capeder. Mr. Capeder graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1987. He earned a B.S. in Business Administration in 1991 from Rockhurst College in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a senior accountant for Hallmark in Kansas City. He was a member of the Heartland Men’s Chorus in Kansas City. He enjoyed singing, traveling, reading, cooking and especially enjoyed time spent with his family. Mr. Capeder was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his father, Josef V. Capeder of Trenton; three sisters, Maria Heer and her husband, Hans of Switzerland, Rita Gilfus and her husband, Kenneth Sr. of Auburn, NY and Monica Martin and herhusband Mark of Thayer; four brothers, Joseph Capeder and his wife, Tina, of Trenton, Marcus Capeder of Weedsport, NY, Tony Capeder of Clyde, NC and Lucius Capeder and his wife, Joyce of Pomona; nieces and nephews, Mathias and Daniel Heer, Kenneth Jr. and Kimberly Gilfus, Grant, Nicklaus and Gabriel Martin, Rebekah and Makaila Capeder, Marcus Capeder Jr., Joshua and Nathan Capeder, Zach, Jacob, Jordan and Kaleb Capeder; and one great-nephew, Kenneth Gilfus.
His mother precedes him in death.
Visitation will be from 6: to 8 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012, with Rosary Service at 6:30 p.m., at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home in West Plains. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 7, 2012, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, north of Trenton.
Memorial contributions may be made to Heartland Men’s Chorus in Kansas City and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
