Trenton High School junior Katie Ireland has been honored with an “outstanding student” award from the Grand River Vocational-Technical School at Chillicothe.
Local Girl Earns Honor
Miss Ireland is a participant in the Collision Technology Program at the school. She is completing her first year in the program and is an officer in the Grand River Tech SkillsUSA. At THS she is involved in volleyball and is a mascot for the school. An A-Plus student, she plans to continue her education at North Central Missouri College and eventually open her own auto body shop.
Miss Ireland’s most recent project, a restored Vintage 1950 Taylor Tot Stroller and Walker, was displayed at a recent Chillicothe R-2 Board meeting. The stroller/walker was found in the rafters of an old hen house. When found, she researched the item, took it completely apart and restored it to its original state. She is currently working on a car for the annual GRTS auction.
