Leading the way for Trenton was Chase Tolson, who put together nine hole scores of 38 and 39 for a total of 77. That mark placed Tolson in the top 10 individually, tying him for sixth overall.
Behind Tolson’s banner day, Trenton got scores of 81 and 82 from Joe Christenson and Blake Schlarb respectively. Christenson shot a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back nine for his total of 81. Schlarb shot twin 41’s, giving him his total of 82. Both Christenson and Schlarb finished in the top 20 individually. Christenson was 18th and Schlarb was 19th.
Rounding out the Trenton team score was Lane Beverlin, who shot an 84 with nine-hole scores of 46 and 38. Austin Norris was also in action for the Bulldogs, shooting a 90 after a 46 on the front nine and a 44 on the back nine.
“Chase Tolson had a great day and it’s nice to see him playing well at this time of year,” Bulldogs’ Coach Travis Mullenix said. “Joe and Blake both played good, but had a few holes that pushed their scores a little higher than they would have liked. Lane had a great back nine score of 38, but struggled a bit on the front. Our overall team finish of third was great, only losing to Savannah and Pembroke Hill. They are both very good teams. We’ve been a good team all year and today was no exception.”
The Trenton Bulldogs have one tournament remaining before districts. Trenton will travel to St. Joseph on Monday to compete in the LeBlond Golf Tournament at the Fairview Golf Course at 9 a.m.
