W. Sharlene Gear Walker, an 87-year-old resident of Chandler, AZ, died on Monday morning April 9, 2012 in Chandler.

Burial for Mrs. Walker will held at the Gardens at Sun Lakes United Methodist Church in Sun Lakes, AZ.
Mrs. Walker was born on Oct. 13, 1924 in Carlisle, IA, the daughter of Forrest and Grace Tinnen Gannon. She graduated from Trenton High School in 1943. She was married on June 4, 1943 to Leland C. Gear, who preceded her in death in 1991. During her husband’s 21-year career in the Army as a major, the family was in various duty stations in Europe and USA. They retired to Sun City, AZ. in 1963.
She was married on June 25, 1992 in Sun City to Wayne Walker, who preceded her in death in 2000. She moved to Sun Lakes in 2001 to be closer to her sons.
Mrs. Walker was an avid golfer, loved to entertain, volunteered in the gift shop at Chandler Hospital and was a member of the Tequila Tootsies Chapter of the Red Hat Society.
She is survived by sons Doug (Nola) Gear of Sun Lakes and Randy (Pat O’Byran) Gear of Maricopa, AZ; a sister, Betty (Jim) Evans of Trenton; a sister-in-law, Virginia Gear of Trenton; grandchildren Rich Isaac of Orange, CA, Cindy (Rick) Black of Lowell, AR, Rae Lee Willette of Chandler, Terri (Erich) Tews of Bentonville, AR and Steven (Theresa) Gear of Rogers, AR; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husbands and a granddaughter, Syrena Isaac.
