Princeton Board OKs Personnel

The Princeton Board of Education took action on several personnel issues during its meeting on Monday night.

According to information provided by Superintendent Terry Mayfield, Eric Fairchild was hired for a physical education position and will be the new girls varsity basketball coach as well as an assistant football coach and golf coach. Wade Hall was hired as junior high history teacher and will serve as assistant varsity boys basketball coach, assistant varsity track coach and assistant junior high softball coach.
John Goodin will be the new varsity football coach, having served the past few years as an assistant. Goodin will also be the head girls track coach. Justin Collins was named the head boys basketball coach and will also serve as an assistant football coach as well as head junior high boys basketball coach.
Other extra duty coaching assignments made include Taron Brewer, head girls softball coach; Chrystal Mayfield, assistant high school softball coach; Kelsey Holt Allen, head junior high softball coach; Scott Ussery, head junior high football coach and junior high girls track coach; Tyson Miller, assistant junior high football coach and boys junior high track coach; Terry Mayfield, assistant varsity girls coach and junior high girls basketball coach; Jim King, head varsity boys track coach; Christy Stockman, varsity football cheerleading; and Ranae Shahan, varsity basketball and junior high football and basketball cheerleading.
Class sponsorships include Bryan Williams and Dana Moore, seventh grade; Nancy Gamet and Maureen Funk, eighth grade; Marsha Shaw, Jane Schroeder and Mark Knorr, freshmen; Susan Culver and Chrystal Mayfield, sophomores; Amanda Mitchell, Jack Price and Wade Hall, juniors; and Meredith Ussery, Mark Knorr and Justin Collins, seniors.
Other extra duty assignments include Beth Boxley, academic team; Jamie Miller, assistant elementary/high school principal; Eric Fairchild, athletic director; Mark Knorr, band and choir; Tena Moore, drama; Karla Meinke, event support; Nancy Gamet, FCCLA; Bryan Williams, FFA and barnwarming; Beth Boxley, National Honor Society, prom and homecoming; Lacey Henry, National Junior Honor Society, prom and Peer Helpers; Becci Shew, student council, courtwarming and decorating; John Goodin, boys weight training; Taron Brewer/Terry Mayfield, girls weight training; and Susan Culver, yearbook.
The board heard from two students who wrote letters in support of a teacher whose contract was not renewed. Approval was given to the A-Plus, At-Risk and curriculum reports. Also approved was the 2012-2013 calendar, with the first day of school being Aug. 22 and the last day of school being May 21.
A bid from Lawn Care and Landscaping was approved for mowing the school campus. Following the swearing in of new board members, officers were elected and include Stan Johnson, president; Dr. Larry Letner, vice president; Ron Parsons, secretary; and Dick Swartzkopf, treasurer. Recognized for their years of service on the board were Dr. Tammy Hart, seven years; and Doug Priest, three years.
The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, May 14.
