Busy Bees 4-H Club Meets On March 16

The Busy Bees 4-H Club met on March 16 at the Laredo Community Center. with 12 members, six leaders and three guests present.

President Tyler Kidd presided over the meeting. Haley Kidd led the Pledge of Allegiance and Rebecca Urich led the 4-H pledge. Roll call was answered with each member telling where they plan to do on Contest Day.
Allena Allen and Haley Kidd reported working on their beef project with Allena attending a show in Chillicothe. Cooper Lewis reported working on his foods project by making his sister’s brownies for a school snack and Robert Urich reported working on his woodworking and horse projects by making a wooden bridge for trail class.
Mrs. Urich reminded members of the upcoming Swine and Bucket Calf training in Chillicothe on March 17 and the SMQA training at the courthouse on March 29. Contest Day is scheduled for April 21 with a skating party to follow. Camp forms are now available and camps are scheduled for June 4-7 or 11-14 and are held at Crowder State Park. All regular members were encouraged to attend. A date was set for the club’s trip to the Omaha Zoo. Members turned in their remaining fundraising monies.
Lainie Lewis gave a demonstration on “How to Make Playdough.” For recreation, members explored 4-H by tracing their bodies and listing what they do with their four H’s (Head, Heart, Hands and Health). Refreshments were brought by Allena Allen.
The next meeting is scheduled for April 20.
