N. “Henry” Applebury, an 87-year-old resident of Chillicothe, died on Friday, March 23, 2012 at Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at the Lindley Funeral Home in Chillicothe. Burial will be in the Edgewood Cemetery at Chillicothe.
A Masonic service will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at the funeral home, followed by a family visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. General visitation begins at noon on Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Applebury was born on Feb. 21, 1925 in Carroll County, the son of Gifford and Edna Daugherty Applebury. He was a 1943 graduate of Avalon High School. He was a member of the United States Marines during World War II, from 1945 to 1947.
He was married on May 22, 1949 in Princeton to Freda Gray, who preceded him in death on Aug. 30, 2009. He worked for Midland Brick and Tile for 20 years as an electrician and also farmed. He was a member of the Liberty Methodist Church; the Masonic Lodge No. 539, serving as a 50-year pass master; and the Eastern Star. He also attended the Free Methodist Church.
Mr. Applebury is survived by two sons, David Applebury and his wife, Elaine of Dearborn and Tracy Applebury and his wife, Barbara of Trenton; two daughters, Alice Ann Tucker and her husband, Teddy of Chillicothe and Lora Glowacki and her husband, Bob of Waterloo, IL; five grandchildren, Teresa Ausberger and her husband, Matt of Stewartsville, Brent Applebury of St. Joseph, Kelsey Applebury of Dearborn, Cole Glowacki of Waterloo and Drew Glowacki of Waterloo; one great-grandchild, Audrionna Ausberger of Stewartsville; two sisters, Jane King of Chillicothe and Jean Plummer and her husband, Tommie of Ft. Worth, TX; and a friend, Maxine Bevelle.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one brother, Alvis Applebury.
