Leila Jean Browning, an 84-year-old resident of Sunnyview Nursing Home in Trenton, died on Friday morning, March 23, 2012 while under hospice care. She was a former resident of Aurora.

The body was cremated. Graveside services will be announced at a later date and burial will be in Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Mrs. Browning was born on October 15, 1927 in Aurora, the daughter of Charles and Jennie Faucett. She was married for 60 years to Jay Dee Browning of Verona, who preceded her in death on Dec. 10, 2009. She was employed by the Aurora R-8 School District for 23 years. She was a long-standing member and deacon of the Disciples of Christ First Christian Church in Aurora. Both J.D. and Leila enjoyed trout fishing and showing their classic 1955 Chevrolet. The couple was recognized in May 2007 by the Missouri Department of Conservation for their long term participation and founding interest in the Kids Fishing Day at Roaring River Fish Hatchery.
Mrs. Browning is survived by her twin brother, Leon Faucett of Mt. Vernon; two sons, Dennis Browning and his wife, Sandy of Trenton and Dwayne Browning and his wife, Patti of Columbia; and one grandson, Jason Browning of Ponca City, OK.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roy Faucett and Ralph Faucett; and three sisters, Charlene Wilkerson, Bernice Jones and Virginia Faucett.
