Dixie Jean Stark, an 80-year-old resident of Mercer County, died on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton with Pastor Jack Stark officiating. Burial will be in the Middlepoint Cemetery, west of Mercer.
Open visitation is under way at the funeral home, where the family visitation will be from 6 to 7 o’clock this evening (Thursday, March 15, 2012).
Mrs. Stark was born on Jan. 20, 1932 in Mercer County, the daughter of Fred and Margaret Caroline Spencer Bardwell. She was a lifelong resident of Mercer County, a homemaker, and also worked at the Princeton Care Center for 12 years. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery, reading, and gardening and was a member of the Lineville-Mercer Christian Church of Mercer.
She was married to Raymond “Ray” Stark, who preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by two daughters, Judy Bagley and her husband, Dennis of Princeton and Janet Fender and her husband, Jack of Cainsville; two sons, David Stark of Mercer and Doyle Stark and his wife, Misty of Princeton; four grandchildren, Karrie Tidlund and her husband, Gus, Farrah Journey and her husband, Travis, Steven Stark and Dale Bagley; four great-grandchildren, Avery, Sarina and Eythan Tidlund and Marissa Journey; one sister, Mary Ann Clark of Lineville, IA; and by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a daughter, Donna Stark; a son, Dale Stark; four brothers, Jack, Junior, Dale and Bob Bardwell; and by three sisters, Lois, Betty and Nancy.
