William LeRoy “Bill” May, a 95-year-old resident of Princeton, died on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at Pearl’s II Eden for Elders in Princeton.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the Greenlee-Middleton Funeral Chapel in Princeton. Dr. David Roberson will officiate. Burial will be in the Princeton Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 with a family visitation from 6:30 to 7:30 that evening at the funeral home.
Mr. May was born on Jan. 23, 1917 in Princeton, the son of Lucien Ellis and Cleo Margaret Cisco May. He graduated in 1935 from Princeton High School and entered the U.S. Army Air Force in 1940. After serving four years, he entered the Merchant Marines for six years. He worked for Owens Monuments for many years.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Princeton, the Mercer Lodge No. 35, AF&AM, the Mercer Ragan-Hickman American Legion Post No. 477, Princeton VFW Post No. 7159 and the Sailors Union of the Pacific.
He enjoyed housesitting for people during their vacations and walking dogs for many people. He also collected mermaids.
He is survived by four cousins, Linda Hollatz of Columbus, NE, Gail Walters of Bluefield, CO, Janet Lory of Englewood, CO and John Ballew of Ann Arbor, MI; and close friends, Guy Earl and Julia Evoritt of Princeton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two uncles, Jack Cisco and James C. Ballew.
Memorials are suggested to the Princeton Cemetery, any church or The Masonic Home.
