Deb Binney
Family visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 27, 2012 at the Resthaven Mortuary, north of Trenton.
Mrs. Binney, a 58-year-old resident of rural Trenton, died late Monday evening, January 23, 2012 at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City.
Mrs. Binney was born on April 27, 1953 in Trenton, the daughter of Ray “Jr.” and Nadine Horton Dolan. She graduated from Trenton High School and on Sept. 17, 1971 was married to Jim Binney in Trenton. They have lived and farmed all 40 years of their married lives east of Trenton.
As a very active member of her community, she was a member of the Laredo Christian Church, served on the Laredo school board, was a member of Xi Theta Upsilon and spent endless hours as a devoted band/choir mom. She also loved getting rowdy once a month with her Bunko girls. However, none of these things brought her as much joy as her most important role of all; taking care of and cooking for her family, friends, and any stranger she learned was in need. Her seven course meals that she hauled to the field will be missed by many.
Mrs. Binney is survived by her husband, Jim Binney of the home; a daughter, Amy Binney-Huber of Trenton; a son, Jeff Binney of Brooklyn, NY; three grandchildren, Dolan, Jesse and Jackson Huber; a sister, Joy Stone of Kansas City; and a niece, Becky Stone of Laredo.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family has suggested that memorial contributions be made to the Deb Binney Memorial Fund to be used to fund the construction of the kitchen in the “Lodge,” which is currently in the planning stages, for families of patients in the Saint Luke’s Heart Institute. These may be left at or mailed to the Resthaven Mortuary at PO Box 587, Trenton, MO 64683.
