Mike Lee Hayes, a 75-year-old resident of Larned, KS, died on Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at Pawnee Valley Community Hospital in Larned.

Graveside memorial services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 13, 2012 at Half Rock Cemetery in Half Rock with Pastor David Robertson presiding. No visitation is planned.
Mr. Hayes was born on Sept. 9, 1936, at Trenton, the son of Mike and Nellie K. McGuire Hayes. Previously of Lucerne, he was a longtime resident of Larned. He retired in Lebanon and later moved back to Larned in December 2010. He was a retired truck driver for Golden Belt Feeders in St. John, KS.
He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Masonic Lodge at Powersville.
On June 10, 1956, he was married at Trenton to Amy Lucille Persell, who preceded him in death on April 12, 2010.
Survivors include one son, Michael Hayes and his wife, Wanda of Larned; one daughter, Kathy Patterson and her husband, David of Larned; three grandchildren, Brittany Detherage and her husband, Josh, Tia Beardsly and her husband, Less and Nathan Hayes; and six great-grandchildren, Courtney Detherage, Trey Moore, Tyler Beardsly, Michael Beardsly, Brett Beardsly and Deanna Beardsly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Chuck Hayes; and one grandson, Shawn Valentine.
